Dexter Cattle are known for their ease of handling and their gentle, quiet nature. They are renown for their meat quality, Dexters are an old heritage breed, resulting in unsurpassed flavour and tenderness in the meat. They also forage on a larger variety of food so they eat less, and can slaughter at up to 70% of their hoof weight compared to standard beef cattle which slaughter at 50% of hoof weight.

Wind Talker Ranch, Dexter Cattle
The Dexter Cattle Breed, a small Irish breed nearly extinct after WWI, is making a huge resurgence in the British Isles and the Americas. They are renowned for their friendly personalities and ease of handling. Homesteaders, local community members and ranch owners have been giving credit to their personalities, milk and top-quality meat production for many, many years.
Wendy got started in the Dexter cattle business out of a passion for the breed and raising quality beef for her family and grandchildren. Wendy's best friend passed away in 2020, and after taking in all of her friends’ animals, she decided to expand, creating a family business to share the specialties the Dexter Cattle have to offer. She prides her experience in breeding Quarter Horses. Faith and family time are a priority in life. Her husband grew up on a dairy farm and is a disabled Marine. Their family supports the Aeneas Valley Association, local Law Enforcement agencies, the Youth Wrestling group in Okanogan, WA, White Phantoms Rescue, Church Vacation Bible School, Veterans and the Wounded Warriors.
